Flash Point Fusion, Fusing Argentium Silver 101

Contents

Welcome!!

Thank you for joining me Robert Lopez Designs, LLC for my video course.

In this course I will cover the basic techniques, tools and materials that are used to fuse Argentium Sterling Silver. Fusing is a technique that connects multiple pieces of silver without using solder. You can fuse hundreds of components quickly, with minimal setup and without the hassle of solder overflow. Fusing is heating the surface of the silver to make it fluid, and allowing the fluid silver on the surfaces to mix and bond.

I will have a follow up course that will show you how I make my bracelets, building a bezel, stone setting and riveting the silver and titanium together among other techniques.

It has been a long journey getting to this point. It may not be perfect, as it is my second. As I continue to make more courses I'm sure they will only get better. I'm also sure I will receive plenty of comments and insight on how to do so. Please keep in mind that I had to learn how to do every single component of this course.  Believe me when I tell you, it probably involved way more than you think. With that in mind, please be understanding if it's not as polished as you hoped.

I have included several links and PDFs for you to review before starting the course. Among those are links to where you can purchase tools and materials. I have added a link to purchase the kit from me if you like. I will have limited stock at first, but as I generate revenue I should be well supplied. The kit for this course only requires three items and really is not super beneficial  for you to purchase from me; however future courses will most likely be very extensive and it may make it easier and more cost effective for you to acquire them from me. Doing so should generate extra income for me while saving you the hassle of cutting the sheet silver.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy my tutorial and learn how to create beautifully colored cuffs made of heat treated titanium.

Argentium Silver, All The Info

Safety, First Things First.

Please review all the information provided in this section. I have included some files and links that will help you work safely in your studio. Safety should always be the first thing on your mind when entering your studio.

One should always be aware that there are certain risks involved in metalsmithing and jewelry making. The tools and equipment used in many of the processes involve some sort of risk while using them.

I am by no means an expert on safety and in fact, have been injured many times while making jewelry myself. Ultimately, you are responsible for your own safety and educating yourself on safe studio practices.

I have included a link of an eBook on the subject that I highly recommend reading which is written by Charles Lewton-Brain.
